Marine fleet repair is essential for keeping your ships efficient and your team safe. However, many marine repairs come with detrimental environmental effects. At VLS, we apply sustainable practices to our repair services — like painting under the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) — to reduce your operation’s environmental impact.
Our services include sandblasting and painting, heavy steel repair, crane services, and preventive maintenance. We also offer United States Coast Guard (USCG) annual inspections and Ship Inspection Report programme (SIRE) inspections to ensure your fleet is compliant and in excellent shape for the water.
Marine Gas Free services are designed to clean and purge your ships of harmful chemicals to prevent contamination and safety concerns during new trips. The VLS team is permitted to clean non-vapor control cargos, vapor control cargos, and chlorinated solvent cleanings.
This service is available 24 hours and can include steaming, nitrogen purging, liquid propane gas (LPG) flaring, and more. Our team receives in-depth training in this process to ensure the safety of everyone involved while providing comprehensive cleaning.

We have three main service areas for marine solutions in the United States.
The VLS Marine division, located in Port Arthur, Texas, offers 24-hour service and plenty of space for a range of marine fleet repairs. With a 4,500-ton and 3,500-ton capacity marine drydock, tower cranes, and other valuable tools, this division can service up to 12 30k barges.
Calcasieu Lake is an essential port for the Gulf of Mexico, and our marine services extend to this location with our operation based in Hackberry, Louisiana. This facility operates 24 hours and has the capacity to dock up to five 30k barges. This location can also address Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) cleaning needs on top of USCG inspections, crane service, minor topside repairs, and marine vapor control unit.
We are excited to enter the market on the Mississippi River near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This gives us the opportunity to provide the same outstanding service and capabilities on the Mississippi River.
